RIGHT NOW: WHERE ARE YOU, WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON, AND WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ITEM YOU’RE WEARING?

I’m sitting in a hotel in Bridgehampton on a pseudo-staycation. I say “pseudo” since I’m not in my own apartment AND I’m working, so it’s not an unplugged vacation! It’s nice to get out of the city and immerse myself in new surroundings – I feel more productive and come back refreshed even if I work! This is my catch-up week, getting ready for the next phase both personally and for IssueVoter.

Right now, the favorite item I’m wearing is a brass cuff (by Giles & Brother/Liberty United) that’s made from a recycled, confiscated, illegal gun. It even has a bullet shell and gun serial number, and is made in the USA.

SUM UP YOUR STYLE IN ONE SENTENCE.

versatile, comfortable, classic + trendy, basic + colorful

WHAT INSPIRES YOU ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO?

IssueVoter’s mission – to give everyone a voice in by making civic engagement accessible, efficient, and impactful – and vision for a more informed electorate & truly representative democracy drive me.

HOW DO YOU LIVE ‘MINDFULLY?’

Don’t sweat the small stuff!
Taking deep breaths in high pressure situations.
Journaling to brainstorm or to vent.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP?

Open my eyes… 🙂
I dislike routine – I rebel against having a morning routine!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO GET READY IN THE MORNING?

It depends on how much time I have and what I’m doing that day. My record is 10 minutes door to desk, including the fastest shower ever.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO WORKOUT?

I like variety, so I do yoga with a teacher where each class is different and feels more like a dance class/choreography than yoga, soul cycle, and I’ve been thinking about getting back into ballet.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR LIFE (AND CLOSET!) A LEAN, MEAN, CLUTTER-FREE MACHINE?

I am very organized and pick up/clean along the way. I’ve been good about cleaning out my closet a few times a year and donating or consigning anything that I no longer want. A little over a year ago, I Marie Kondo’d my closet. Living in NYC, my (small) apartment also helps by preventing me from accumulating clutter. I’ve even helped several friends clean out and organize their closets!

YOU’RE A BUSY BABE. HOW DO YOU BALANCE WORK, HEALTH, AND YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?

I don’t use the word “balance” in this context. I believe people should stop striving for work-life balance and instead embrace work-life integration. Plus, it’s important to prioritize. It’s never true when someone says they “didn’t have time to…” The truth is, they “didn’t prioritize…” Out of health, work, and relationships, it’s important to prioritize health. If you’re not healthy, you can’t be there for work or relationships.

WHAT PODCASTS OR BLOGS DO YOU KEEP UP WITH?

None (except for blog.issuevoter.org)

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE?

My dog! She is so loving, patient, low-maintenance, and happy all the time!

FAVORITE SPOTS FOR A HEALTHY MEAL?

My new favorite spot is Massoni for pizza. It’s healthy because tomato sauce = vegetables, cheese = Vitamin D, dough = carbs/energy. See what I did there?

WHITE HOT LIGHTENING ROUND– GO!

HEELS OR FLATS? Heels

BUSINESS OR CASUAL? Casual

EARLY MORNINGS OR LATE NIGHTS? Late nights

NEW YORK OR LA? Love NYC & have been here 10+ years, but lately have been feeling a pull towards LA

COFFEE, TEA, OR MATCHA? Coffee

COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE: LIVING INTENTIONALLY MEANS…making time more meaningful and productive.
