RIGHT NOW: WHERE ARE YOU, WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON, AND WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ITEM YOU’RE WEARING?

We’re working on our first brand video about the origins of Bird + Stone! So I’m up late trying to refine our story and researching good storytelling.

I’m wearing the same thing I wear every day ๐Ÿ˜‰ One of 3 shirts I rotate… because entrepreneurs have so many decisions to make already….amiriiite? But, for real. Our new climate change cuff that has the actual graph of the earth’s temp on it… ๐Ÿ™‚

SUM UP YOUR STYLE IN ONE SENTENCE.

Refined boho minimalist.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO?

That I get a chance to build something — everyday, make an impact, and lead such a great team!

HOW DO YOU LIVE ‘MINDFULLY?’

Meditation every morning. I can’t skip it.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP?

Stretch. I’ve been trying to avoid my phone these days and it’s blissful.

WHAT DOES YOUR MORNING ROUTINE LOOK LIKE?

Water. Coffee. Put on yoga music. Yoga. Meditation!

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO WORKOUT?

Yoga – I follow Leslie Fightmaster on youtube and do her 30 minute classes. Helps me get classes in the morning at home! Or, Bend + Bloom in Park Slope when I have the time. I try to go on Friday evenings when they have music… it’s diviiiiiine.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR LIFE (AND CLOSET!) A LEAN, MEAN, CLUTTER-FREE MACHINE?ย

Google calendar. Google calendar. Google calendar. My life runs on it – I block out every part of my day and adjust it throughout the day. Each business area is color-coded so I can figure out where I’m spending time/what I should be delegating.

YOU’RE A BUSY BABE. HOW DO YOU BALANCE WORK, HEALTH, AND YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?

It’s hard..you really want to work all the time when it’s your own business. I have been intentionally planning gatherings with my friends quarterly like with the botanical garden, wine nights and especially documentary clubs (I do that every month!).

I fill my Saturdays with friends and outings and leave Sundays to catch up and get set up for the week. Leaving Sunday as precious “me” time and usually read all Sunday morning with jazz on. I make sure to unwind fully on the weekends and that makes me a better founder and thinker.

WHAT PODCASTS OR BLOGS DO YOU KEEP UP WITH?

n/a … does NYTimes and NPR count? That’s all I really listen to/watch. I listen to NPR on my iPod nano because I’m usually too engrossed in thought to plan out podcasts for my walks.

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE?

Leonardo DiCaprio. For taking his privilege and doing something about bringing the conversation of climate change to the mainstream.

I mean, MacDonald’s was still en vogue before Supersize Me right? let’s hope this movie has the same effect….

FAVORITE SPOTS FOR A HEALTHY MEAL?

LuAnne’s for vegan Chinese in Cobble Hill and Sun in Bloom in North Park Slope!

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?

Don’t worry about knowing everything. It’s so much more fun to make the mistake on your own and have the experience.

WHITE HOT LIGHTENING ROUND– GO!

HEELS OR FLATS? POWER SHOES. Flats, always.

BUSINESS OR CASUAL?ย Casual!

EARLY MORNINGS OR LATE NIGHTS?ย Late

NEW YORK OR LA?ย NY…until I feel otherwise.

COFFEE, TEA, OR MATCHA? All of the above. In that order actually. Coffee first, tea early afternoon, matcha for late pick me up.

COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE: LIVING INTENTIONALLY MEANS…breathing. for real, breathing. But, sometimes it’s a bit hard in NYC. So, I have this soundtrack called “Monks Chanting” on Spotify. It forces you to slow down and OM with the monks for 7 minutes straight. By the end, you’re good to go and take on the day!
