RIGHT NOW: WHERE ARE YOU, WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON, AND WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ITEM YOU’RE WEARING?

Sitting on my deck watching the birds and boats go by, working on an outline for a fun video series that I’ll be sharing with clients who have recently welcomed essential oils into their lives, wearing my fav teeny tiny shark tooth stud earrings by Odette NY.

SUM UP YOUR STYLE IN ONE SENTENCE.

Easy + classic with a touch of boho.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO?

Oh man, how much time do you have? SO many things!

But if I had to pick just one, it’d have to be the people I get to work with – both clients + biz partners. I’m smiling just thinking about them. These are people that have said ‘yes’ to opening their lives to unlimited possibilities for empowerment around their health, happiness + personal freedom – and I have the honor of walking alongside them on their path. Inspo for days!

HOW DO YOU LIVE ‘MINDFULLY?’

LOVE this Q!

Mindfulness is a practice – and for me, it’s all about making an effort to bring a sense of presence to my thoughts, feelings + actions. From my conscious creation practice each morning (which involves meditation + reading the script I’ve written for the life I’m manifesting), to tuning into my body – feeling into how it wants to move, what it wants to eat, drink, etc, to nourishing myself with high-quality foods, to supporting conscious businesses whenever possible, to making an effort to remove judgement + expectations from my relationships, to surrounding myself with high-vibe people, there’s an endless list of ways I try to live mindfully.

And, as I mentioned – this is a constant practice – I’m far from perfect, and each time I trip up, I try to quickly forgive myself (instead of dwelling on it) and hop back on the mindfulness train.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP?

Think about things I’m grateful for while I’m laying in bed. Such a fab way to set the tone for the day.

WHAT DOES YOUR MORNING ROUTINE LOOK LIKE?

I get up and do the standard wash face, brush teeth situation – and apply a few essential oils (I switch these up per my mood + energy levels). Then I walk upstairs (we live in an upside-down house!), check out what mama nature’s doin’ outside, and plop down to do my meditation/manifestation practice, then I’ll exercise – either yoga, a HIIT workout, or a walk outside (sometimes this comes before medi time, depending on how I’m feeling). Next comes dry brushing, showering, moisturizing, and applying more essential oils (of course). Last but not least, for breakfast lately I’ve been having a glass of chlorella + filtered water, and then a fatty latte made with a whole bunch of herbs/superfoods (like ashwagandha, mucuna pruriens, reishi, he shou wu, cacao, collagen peptides, grass-fed ghee, and MCT oil).

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO WORKOUT?

Yoga is my favorite way to move my body, hands down.

WHAT’S THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING YOU WEAR THE MOST?

I love a multi-tasking pieces (things I can dress up/down as needed and wear season to season), and I recently got Emerson Fry’s India Shirt (in black) that I’m predicting will be on heavy rotation for years to come.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR LIFE (AND CLOSET!) A LEAN, MEAN, CLUTTER-FREE MACHINE?

Bringing mindfulness to what I consume/buy/welcome into my life is key for me! That goes for everything from entertainment, to food, to clothes, to products, to things for my home, to the energy of the peeps I surround myself with, to the to-do’s and events on my calendar. It’s all about remembering to ask myself if this thing/energy/person/event is in alignment with my intentions and goals – and then deciding if it’s something I want in my life.

I’m obsessed with simplification and detoxification – so those are my guiding principles when it comes to pretty much everything. I also love Danielle LaPorte’s idea of Core Desired Feelings, and I find that anchoring back into those is always helpful when taking inventory of what’s in my life (my CDF’s for 2017 are Aligned, Expansive + Joyful). If something doesn’t positively contribute to me feeling good, it shouldn’t have a place in my life.

YOU’RE A BUSY BABE. HOW DO YOU BALANCE WORK, HEALTH, AND YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?

I don’t really have an exact formula – but the thing that helps me balance my life the most is prioritizing my alignment. I know the things that I need to do daily/weekly/monthly to feel my best, and I schedule those into my calendar just like I would meetings, appointments, etc. (and I treat them just like I would any work commitment).

It can be easy to let our lives get jam-packed and let our to-do lists run our days – but it’s really tough to feel great if you’re not carving out time for your relationships and self-care – so making those non-negotiable is the key.

WHAT PODCASTS OR BLOGS DO YOU KEEP UP WITH?

I go through phases with podcast listening, but The Life Coach School Podcast with Brooke Castillo is one of my jams. I recco this one to everyone – regardless of whether you’re interested in coaching or not. SO many gems!

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE?

I admire anyone who lives their life as an example of the world they want to live in. The conscious makers and consumers, the seekers who question the status quo instead of just flowing with it, the good vibe protectors and projectors, and the courageous ones who live their purpose with no apologies.

FAVORITE SPOTS FOR A HEALTHY MEAL?

My house! Though I do love a meal out at a restaurant, having control over what I cook with and the quality of my ingredients is the best. I rarely feel amazing after eating out, so I look at it more as a social experience than a health-promoting experience. That said, when I worked in corporate I did love me a salad from Sweetgreen – they have lots of simple, organic, locally-sourced goodies to work with.

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?

I don’t have a word-for-word quote, but years ago one of my mentors told me that no one else has the power to make me feel any specific way. I realized in that moment how much of my personal power I’d been giving away to others, letting their words and actions influence (and sometimes dictate) the way I felt. It’s so freeing and empowering to realize that the only person who has the power to influence the way I feel is me.
