Let’s swap out almond milk for tahini milk, shall we? If you are following a plant-based and/or paleo lifestyle, or just obsessed with smoothie bowls, you may be eating too many nuts. Nuts are healthy but are meant to be consumed in small dosages (fun fact– I once OD’ed on almonds after eating about a pound and ended up incredibly sick for 24 hours!). That all goes out the window for me when I am eating paleo cookies made with almond flour, almond or cashew milk, and nut butter all day long.
Enter tahini, which is great for us that cutting down on nut consumption, or for those who are allergic or can’t tolerate nuts.Sesame, which is what tahini is made out of, is considered an OG superfood. Besides the fact that it is oh-so-delicious, it’s also filled with tons of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, magnesium, and more!
The best part of this recipe? It takes less than a minute! Perfect if you are in a pinch and ran out of your favorite non-dairy milk. Test it out and let me know what you think!
1-Minute Creamy Tahini Milk (Paleo, Vegan)
This easy tahini milk is made with only two ingredients! Plus some add ons if you want to make it sweeter. It is ready in the blender in less than a minute and is great to use in elixirs, your morning granola, coffee, or anything else you use milk in.
- 4 tbsp Tahini
- 4 cups Water
- 1 dash pink salt
Optional sweetener of choice (I prefer 2 dates or 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or raw honey if not vegan)
Blend all ingredients.
If you are adding sweetener, adjust to your personal preference.
